On Sunday 18 October, the Grand Trail des Templiers 2026 got underway from the town of Millau at 5:10 (local time). After completing the 80.4 km loop, Francesco Puppi (Italy) and Martyna Młynarczyk (Poland) took first place, finishing in 6h32’20 and 7h41’18 respectively.
In conditions described as favourable, the route was announced with more than 3,429 metres of positive elevation gain, starting from Millau in the Aveyron department, in the south of France. The course runs through the heart of the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park, with sections suited to a fast pace, as well as more technical passages.
Among the men, Francesco Puppi controlled the race, positioning himself behind the leader before accelerating in the last two climbs. He then opened up a decisive gap towards the end, finishing just a second behind the course record, and winning in 6h32’20.
In the women’s race, Martyna Młynarczyk dominated from start to finish, building an advantage that steadily increased. Her time of 7h41’18 improved on the previous course record (7h42’24), set in 2024 by Caitlin Fielder (New Zealand), and she finishes ahead of Alexandra Cassan-Ferrier (7h46’22) and Audrey Tanguy (7h51’05).
