The Vichy Marathon is scheduled for 21 March 2027. The event is presented as a new race added to the Foulées Vichyssoises, with the ambition of allowing runners to test themselves over the main distance of athletics.
For this inaugural edition, the 42.195 km race will complement the existing formats, namely 5 km, 10 km and the half-marathon. The text states that, at the last event, these races attracted nearly 6,000 runners, while the marathon should bring together around 2,300 participants.
The rendezvous is set at the Centre Omnisports Pierre Coulon in Bellerive-sur-Allier. The route outlines two loops: around Lac d’Allier, then through Bellerive-sur-Allier, Vichy and Cusset, with a return to the finish area between the Palais du Lac and Lac d’Allier.
The course is described as “very fast and smooth” and presented as accessible to everyone. Organiser Jérôme Savart, vice-president of RC Vichy Athlétisme, also mentions an announced elevation gain of “no more than 120mD+” and a heritage-focused goal, including the Palais des Congrès-Opéra, the thermal estate and Parc des Sources.
