One and a half years after the launch of the Suunto Run, Suunto unveils the Run 2, presented as a watch designed to support runners through the first stages of marathon training, with the aim of chasing performance.

The Run 2 weighs 35 g and combines a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with a claimed brightness of 2,000 nits, for battery life of around 10 days.

The key new feature being highlighted is the arrival of mapping, previously reserved for trail and adventure models, with the ability to download offline maps for free and view them directly from the watch without using the phone.

The announced battery life improves by 29%, with up to 24 hours of battery life in dual-band GNSS, and the watch also uses L1 and L5 signals to improve accuracy, distance and pace.

The Suunto Run 2 includes a training plan, a dedicated area bringing together load, HRV, sleep and recovery, as well as a Marathon mode with Ghost Runner, and an Energy Sense feature to adapt pace by looking at effort and remaining capabilities.
