The World Athletics Ultimate Championships are set to begin in Budapest, where athletes from all over the world have arrived for the first edition planned in Hungary.
The official press conference is scheduled for Thursday, with a programme that also includes a run-up to the events, complete with a red carpet and media opportunities for the athletes.
The Kids’ Athletics Ultimate Challenge will feature among its participants Melissa Jefferson-Wooden and Letsile Tebogo, alongside the overall Championships programme.
Competition gets under way on Friday, with lane draws and technical events based on the World Rankings as of 1 September, and qualification for the semi-finals to the finals for the top four in each place.
The announced total prize money reaches a record 10 million dollars, with 381 athletes representing 65 countries taking part across all events.
