The Marathon Bresse Dombes will return to Chatillon-sur-Chalaronne, in the Ain department, on 24 and 25 April 2027, with an enriched programme. The event offers a solo marathon or a relay, as well as other distances and charity walks, to broaden the offer for runners and weekend participants.
The organisers state that entries open on Friday 23 October 2026, meaning you need to move quickly to secure a place. They also aim to build momentum after the 2026 edition, which brought together 5,511 participants—an increase of 28% compared with the previous edition.
The Marathon Bresse Dombes is rooted in the local area, with routes between fishponds, hedgerows and villages with character. The Origin’Ain-labelled event highlights local products and expertise, notably through gourmet refreshments, and says it wants to strengthen entertainment and improve the welcome at the finish.
For this 7th edition, the organisers are targeting an ambitious 6,500 runners. The weekend begins on Saturday 24 April with the partners’ village, bib collection, the children’s races and a festive, gourmet dinner in Neuville-les-Dames, before Sunday is devoted to the races, charity walks and the presentation of awards.
