The Gel-Nimbus 29 remains focused on comfort, with several technical updates announced by ASICS. The model will go on sale from 1 December 2026 and will be priced at €190. The text also places this release in the line of the “28th version”, which was judged to be highly successful, before introducing the ninth iteration.

At the heart of the shoe, the key highlight is the arrival of FF LUXE PLUS foam in the midsole. ASICS describes it as its best foam for cushioning and sets out a goal of greater softness underfoot, with a stride said to be smoother, particularly on long runs.

The midsole also stands out for its new geometry, featuring a wavy profile designed to guide the roll-through of the foot. To complete the set, the PureGEL technology is positioned under the heel to absorb shocks on impact, as described in the article.

In terms of grip and durability, the outsole evolves through the use of HYBRID ASICSGRIP rubber over a larger surface area than on the previous version. The stated goal is to improve traction while increasing resistance to wear, building on this extended rubber zone.

The upper is also reworked using a revised technical mesh to combine breathability, support and softness, while the knitted tongue and the ribbed collar aim to deliver more comfort around the foot. The article also notes that an additional tongue makes it easier to slip on and specifies different weights for the men’s and women’s versions, at 279 g and 238 g.

For its visual identity, ASICS says it drew inspiration from the movements of clouds and Japanese painting. The colour gradients are presented as a nod to sunlight, grouped under the “Soaring Cloud” concept. The brand also communicates a carbon footprint of 11.4 kg of CO₂-equivalent per pair.
