The Skyrunner UK & Ireland Series is looking for sponsors for 2027 in order to protect the future of the series. The organisers say they want to support athlete development and maintain a pathway that allows British and Irish runners to take part on the international stage.
The organisers present the discipline as a combination of technical trail running and the demands of mountainous terrain. They describe steep, exposed and often challenging routes, highlighting a sport that is built on endurance, technical ability and a strong link with the mountains.
For UK Skyrunning CIC, which is responsible for managing the series, finding commercial partners for 2027 is becoming a priority. The text explains that in the absence of this support, individual races could continue, but the series itself could cease to exist, creating a risk for sending official teams to International Skyrunning Federation championships and finals.
First established in 2015, the series was reviewed and expanded in 2024. It brings together five events in the UK and Ireland, with 13 races scheduled for 2026, including venues such as the Lake District, Eryri in North Wales, Donegal and the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland.
In terms of international representation, the organisers announce that more than 75 athletes, across all age categories, represented the UK internationally in 2026. They also mention that the Masters team has recently won silver at world level, behind Portugal and ahead of Japan, and is aiming for its best squad in 2027 to challenge Portugal.
To attract a partner, the proposal includes year-round visibility across digital channels, event coverage, newsletters and social media, as well as on-site activations, product samples, collaborations with athletes and branded content. The partnership deck mentions 23,000 unique visits to the website in 2025 and an email database of more than 3,200 contacts.
