The 2026 Run Rabbit Run 100 Mile kicks off its Hares division on Friday 18 September at 13:00 Mountain Daylight Time, from Steamboat Springs, in Colorado. iRunFar says it will be there for the first time since 2013 to cover the race.
For the event, the financial stakes are presented as a driver of momentum: $20,000 is announced for the men’s and women’s winners. iRunFar adds that there will therefore inevitably be great competition.
The course format is described as an altitude crossing “not quite as high” as other Colorado events, with a start at the base of the Steamboat Springs ski area at 6,900 feet. Runners then cover 101.5 miles (for 20,391 feet of positive and negative elevation gain/loss) and climb up to 10,600 feet.
The pre-race weather context is also highlighted: the week leading up to the event would be unusually rainy for September, with a chance of seeing the “bad” conditions from last year again. In 2025, Jesse Rich and Riley Brady would have come out victorious there.
